Expect to refresh and expand your knowledge of traffic laws and the rights and responsibilities of cyclist on the road; learn 5 “layers of safety” that you can put to use on every ride (it’s not just about the helmet), learn emergency handling skills and riding techniques that can prevent motorists’ mistakes and allow you to avoid trouble, and much more!  Ages 14-17 welcome with participating parent or guardian.  **NO FEE for classroom portion**

NOTE:  The course is divided into three parts:

  1. classroom
  2. parking lot bike handling skills
  3. 10 mile road ride with instructor.

The parking lot and road ride will be held on two separate weekends so that participants may have a choice to fit into schedules. One will be on Saturday, May 18, and the other will be held on Saturday, May 25, at Laurel Park Shopping Center.

Participants must attend the classroom session in order to participate in on-bike sessions.  Once participants are confirmed as attended the May 6 session, they will be sent registration links to May 18 and May 25 sessions so that they may choose a date to practice and ride.  There will be a $25 fee to attend either May 18 or may 25 session; proceeds minus costs donated to promote cycling.
