Description: Join the RATS (Richmond Area Tandem
Society) for their Eastern Shore Weekend on September 30 and October 1. The rides
are open to everyone, but lodging is on your own. The 32-mile Saturday ride will
start at the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge and will go to Cape Charles
and back. The 39-mile Sunday ride will start at Wachapreague at 9:00 a.m., and will
loop to Onancock and back, with an option to shorten the ride to 34 miles. Riders
will start together, separating out into B and C+ paces as we go along.
Directions: The ride start for Saturday will be the Eastern Shore
Wildlife Refuge, 32205 Seaside Road, Cape Charles, Virginia 23310 - please park
in the portion of the parking lot closest to Seaside Road. The ride start for the
Sunday ride will be Atlantic Avenue in Wachapreague, a block south of the Island
House Restaurant located at 17 Atlantic Avenue, Wachapreague, VA 23480. From Richmond,
take I-64 and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel to reach the Eastern Shore.
