You are invited for July’s rites of passage: a celebration of Le Tour and a fundraiser for Bikes for Kids, the charitable effort of the RABA Foundation, the 501-c-3 nonprofit organization affiliated with RABA. If you don’t know what the Bikes for Kids charity effort is, it is a year-long effort to raise funds to buy new kids’ bikes and helmets, then assemble them and finally deliver to the several Christmas Mother charity programs (read about the Henrico Christmas Mother at http://henricochristmasmother.org/). The Answer Brewpub is the pub arm of Mekong Restaurant, a very popular Vietnamese restaurant in the West end. There are 56 brews onsite, many of them craft beers and since Monday night is Beer Night at the Answer, all beers are $5!
A silent auction of bicycle-related items will also be held! If you or a business that you know has new bicycle-related items to donate to the auction, please contact Kim Moore at luvs2cycle@yahoo.com by Saturday, July 18.
This is our third year of having this summer event and has proven to be a fun and popular time with the club, plus it is a nice break from the heat and riding schedule. We encourage you to attend, enjoy some libations, see long-time friends, meet new faces and especially support the Bikes for Kids with your donation in whatever amount you feel is meaningful to you!
