We are excited that we will be having our first New Rider Ride for 2021 on Saturday May 1 at 9 am. As many of you know, we will not be using Laurel Park Shopping Center for a while during construction (bulldozers and bicycles don’t mix). So for this New Rider Ride we will be parking along the curb on Ackley Ave in front of ColonialWebb (2820 Ackley Ave, Henrico VA, 23228). This is a cul-de-sac so there should not be much traffic. Please do not park in any of the parking lots.
We have some great ride leaders that have volunteered to lead different pace groups and distances. We will have routes that go from 20 miles on up. We will have groups for everybody from the slowest to the fastest riders. We will have no drop rides; we will not be leaving anyone behind.
For those of you that are not accustomed to riding in a group, we will be having a quick class to discuss hand signals, bike etiquette and vocabulary at 8:30 am. This will help you understand the things that are going on with the other riders around you and make it safer for you and them. Look for my silver Toyota Highlander, it will be right in front of Colonial Webb
